Snow and freezing rain…

Wednesday, February 1, 2012 – I must say that we have been having a really strange winter. I am not complaining, actually I am liking it. If only all our winters could be like this… Our first major snowfall was on January 12, where we got close to 23.8cm. Until then we were spoiled with some pretty good weather. Usually by now we would have had a few snowstorms and temperatures dipping well below normal. Instead we were having unseasonably warm temperatures, we had a few days where it was above 0C and we got rain instead of snow. Yesterday we got a mixture of snow and freezing rain making everything look like a skating rink. In total we got around 9cm.

This winter has been pretty strange where one day there is a  snowstorm and the next day it feels like spring. Our weather is definitely changing and as some like to say – it is all because of global warming. On the weather network, they have a segment called “Forces of Nature”, where you see extreme weather from all over the world. It is snowing in places it has never snowed. Places that used to be hot are now cold. I read somewhere that Earth is slowly changing its axis. The northern hemisphere will become the southern hemisphere. With 2012 being predicted as the end of the world , can all of this extreme weather have something to do with this?

I guess we will have to wait and see if everything, as we know it, will end on December 21, 2012.
